“MapKing Real Time Traffic GPS Navigation will come with maps from SLA, Singapore”

MapKing is delighted to announce today their partnership with Singapore Land Authority (SLA) to bring mobile map application to another higher level in Asia Pacific. MapKing Singapore Pte Ltd., subsidiary of MapKing International Limited, contracted will SLA in August and new version of MapKing will come with high quality map with building outlines and many other details. This is the first time SLA maps are made available on mobile and navigation devices. The new map will be ready in Q4 and in 2008, MapKing and SLA will roll out a free PDA map for the enjoyment of the public. This is another remarkable achievement of Singapore and MapKing after the first pre-release show of Real Time Traffic GPS Navigation for Singapore by MapKing in June this year.

The Real Time Traffic GPS Navigation launched today at COMEX, SunTec City, extends its coverage to major roads in Singapore. After the pre-release version which only covers expressways, the present beta is upgraded to include major roads. Singapore is leading in South East Asia in “Real Time Traffic GPS Navigation” empowered by MapKing^TM.

The “MapKing - Real Time Traffic GPS Navigation Singapore” runs on Windows Mobile 5/6 Pocket PC phone devices equipped with 3G or GPRS wireless connection. Streamed from the intelligent transport system of Land Transport Authority (“LTA”), Singapore, MapKing’s real time traffic server dispatches traffic speed data to each device connected wirelessly on the road. The real time data is updated every 5 minutes. End users are allowed to select their lowest acceptable real time traffic flow speed, e.g., driver can set to re-route to an alternate route when the highway traffic flow speed is lower than 30km/hr.
